Mermaid Cruise Lines and Community Partnerships

From our land-based offices in the United States, to wherever our ships sail worldwide, we're committed to helping out at the local level. By recognizing volunteers, making the wishes of kids come true, offering scholarships and helping preserve the world's oceans, we strive to be a true partner to our communities.

Florida Points of Light

Since 2000, Mermaid Cruise Lines has been a proud sponsor of the Florida Governor's Points of Light Award program, which recognizes Florida organizations and individuals demonstrating exemplary volunteer service in their community.

Make-A-Wish Foundation:    Wishes At Sea

Through our national partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we are proud to help make dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. Through Wishes at Sea, established in 2007, we commit a certain number of cruise packages to granting wishes each year. We work with local Wish chapters to help create the perfect wish for each child whose desire is to have an unforgettable dream-come-true vacation with his or her family. While onboard, we treat them like royal celebrities.

Scholarships

Every year, we give merit-based college scholarships to high school children of our employees who qualify through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Additionally, the WestCorp Scholarship Fund established in 2007 by David West, Chairman & CEO of WestCorp, and R.D. Faintley, Chairman & CEO of Mermaid Cruise Lines, offers educational scholarships for WestCorp & Mermaid Cruise Lines employees, their spouses and children.

Marine Conservation

Our oceans are our ships' communities, so WestCorp & Mermaid Cruise Lines is committed to keeping them clean and protected. Learn more about our commitment to preserving our environment.

Save the Waves, our comprehensive environmental protection program, helps us reduce, recycle and properly dispose of waste.

The Ocean Fund, our grant program for nonprofit groups and institutions, allows us to support organizations directly related to marine conservation.
