Itineraries

These itineraries will give you a good idea as to how a safari could be designed. It is possible to extract parts of an itinerary and combine with those from another itinerary.

Tanzania Safari Highlights:

• Mt. Kilimanjaro - the tallest mountain in Africa and the world's tallest free-standing mountain.

• Amboseli National Park - particular attractions include a high concentration of elephants and spectacular views of Mt Kilimanjaro.
• Ngorongoro Crater - the largest unflooded, intact caldera in the world, known as the 8th Wonder of the World.
• Serengeti National Park - the incredible savannahs offer exceptional year-round game viewing. This area is most famous for the migration that takes place every year, which is considered to be one of the seven tourist travel wonders of the world and was named by the American television show Good Morning America and newspaper USA Today as one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World" in 2006.
• Tarangire National Park - home to thousands of elephant and symbolized by the Baobab tree.

6-day Itinerary

• Day 1: USA or Canada - Arrive via overnight flight in Arusha, where you will be met and taken to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for an overnight stay.

• Day 2: Arusha - Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park has some of the highest densities and diversity of wildlife in Africa and is one of the best reserves in Africa for elephant viewing.
• Day 3: Amboseli - Tarangire National Park. Second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife during the dry season and a favorite waterhole for the large elephant population.
• Day 4: Tarangire - Serengeti National Park. You will spend the next two days exploring the incredible savannahs and the kopjes of Tanzania's largest national park. The park offers exceptional year round game viewing, and regardless of when you travel, both resident and migratory animals can be found due to the size and nature of the park.
• Day 5: Serengeti National Park. Visit Olduvai Gorge, world famous for the archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey.
• Day 6: This morning you will return to Arusha, where day rooms will be reserved until your international flight out this evening. You will enjoy lunch and have the afternoon free to explore Arusha.

14-day Itinerary

• Day 1: USA or Canada - Arrive via overnight flight in Arusha, where you will be met and taken to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for an overnight stay.

• Day 2: Arusha - Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park has some of the highest densities and diversity of wildlife in Africa and is one of the best reserves in Africa for elephant viewing. You will spend the next two days exploring the park, visiting a Masai Manyatta (village) and a Masai school, enjoying a bush walk, a Masai dance, and sundowners with views of Kilimanjaro glowing pink in the sunset.
• Day 3: Amboseli National Park.
• Day 4: Amboseli - Tarangire National Park. Second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife during the dry season and a favorite waterhole for the large elephant population.
• Day 5: Tarangire National Park. You will spend the day exploring this unique park with its amazing scenery and wildlife. Tarangire National Park is home to thousands of elephant and is symbolized by the Baobab tree.

• Day 6: Tarangire - Serengeti National Park. This morning you depart for Tanzania's largest national park, the Serengeti. Covering 5,700 square miles, the park is roughly the size of Connecticut.
• Day 7: Serengeti National Park. You will spend the next three days exploring the incredible savannahs and the kopjes of the Serengeti. The Serengeti National Park offers exceptional year round game viewing, and regardless of when you travel, both resident and migratory animals can be found due to the size and nature of the park.
• Day 8: Serengeti National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives.
• Day 9: Serengeti National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives.
• Day 10: Serengeti National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives.
• Day 11: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Prior to driving to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, you will visit Olduvai Gorge, world famous for the archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey.

• Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Today you will spend exploring this natural wonder of the world with its scenic grandeur and stunning views. There are 25,000 larger animals within the crater itself, mostly zebra and wildebeest. However, this is undoubtedly the best place to see black rhino in Tanzania, as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-maned males.
• Day 13: Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara National Park. It will be a short drive this morning before you reach Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara's main attractions are its rich bird life (450 species of birds - including over 40 varieties of birds of prey, its tree-climbing lions, its hippos, and large herds of elephants.
• Day 14: Lake Manyara - Arusha - USA or Canada. This morning you will return to Arusha, where day rooms will be reserved until your international flight out this evening. You will enjoy lunch and have the afternoon free to explore Arusha.

30-day Itinerary
